A night in the Catskill presents ....
The evening will be a celebration of the glory days of the Catskills. The event starts off with a short film about the history of the Catskills and the magical era that made it the entertainment capital of the world. Following the film will be performances by two comedians that will invoke memories of the Borscht Belt’s heyday of vaudevillian entertainment. Elaine Grossinger Etess will then present on the history of Grossinger’s Resort, one of the great hotels of the world in its day. The program will wrap up with a short film of the now dilapidated and abandoned Catskill resorts, followed by a discussion on the importance of the history of Catskill resorts and why that history must be preserved for future generations.

Stone was born in Brooklyn, NY and got his start entertaining guests of the famed Concord Hotel in the Catskills. In Vegas, Stone has earned himself the reputation of being one of the best co-stars in the business.
ELAINE GROSSINGER ETESS

Elaine Grossinger Etess is the daughter of Harry and Jennie Grossinger. She served as Vice President and co-owner of Grossingers Resort. She frequently lectures about Grossinger’s and the Grossinger Family. Elaine will tell stories of her family, celebrities and politics.
JOSIE O’DONNELL
SINGER & COMEDIENN
O’Donnell was born in Donegal, Ireland and made her stage debut in London after studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She switched early in her career from drama to musicals and had lead roles in London in “My Fair Lady,” “Finian’s Rainbow” and “Brigadoon” before crossing the Atlantic. O’Donnell is a frequent and highly requested performer.

The Catskill Resort Museum is intended to resurrect the Catskill resort era and preserve the memories of those who grew up in it. Its mission is to spread awareness about the Catskill resort era and its impact on 20th century American culture. With efforts to reach people of all ages and backgrounds, the future museum will be an interactive, multimedia experience, featuring personal stories, profiles, exhibitions, and educational events that foster intergenerational dialog and insight to the Catskill’s broad impact.
