“He is one of the rare young artists nowadays searching for the ‘truth’ in music… fortunately, not one of those many ‘wild’ performers just showing their pianistic brilliance.” - Robert Lehrbaumer
Daniel Adam Maltz (b. 1994) is a concert pianist based in Vienna, Austria. He is a citizen of both Israel and the United States. Daniel will make his Carnegie Hall debut in October 2016.
After graduating from the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Daniel explored his love of the First Viennese School through private study with internationally-renowned Robert Lehrbaumer in Vienna, Mozart specialist Gil Sullivan in Australia, and Beethoven authority John O’Conor in the United States.
"Daniel has a keen insight into – and passion for – music, which lend to his interpretations a depth and commitment that is quite uncommon..." - Gil Sullivan
Daniel hails from a musical family. His mother is a cellist and his father taught him both piano and composition starting at age four. Daniel made his orchestral debut at age 12, gave his first solo recital at age 15, and performed his first European concerts at age 16.
His repertoire shows a deep appreciation of music from the Classical and early Romantic eras, especially the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Chopin, and Schumann. He is also a champion of works by his father, composer Richard Maltz.
